Published in August 2009, and based on research conducted by experts from the Panchayati Raj Institution supported by Bala Vikasa staff, this book details the impact of women’s reservation in the Panchayats, through a representative sampling of elected women in Andhra Pradesh, India. The outcome of the data analysis demonstrates that the reservation policy has only succeeded to a small extent. SS 8 elaborates on Bala Vikasa’s integrated approach to capacity building, emphasizing the need to train a person at ‘head level’, ‘heart level’, and ‘hand level’.
