As part of our Quality Education – Orphan Solidarity and Education initiatives, last month we launched a massive fundraising campaign to raise Rs 90 Lakhs to help 1200 orphans and children of poor widows to continue their education disrupted by COVID19, by donating smartphones to attend online classes.

With schools resuming only in the online mode, and poor rural children missing virtual classes due to a lack of smart devices, we are raising funds to donate basic smartphones to the rural poor children in our program areas so that they can attend online classes, stay in school, prevent dropouts and prevent the possibility of them going into child labor.

So far, we have been able to raise Rs 20 lakhs through crowdfunding and CSR channels. We are continuing to strive for the additional Rs 70 lakhs required to help all the 1200 children in the program.
